What I coined as the “all purpose hip opener” routine is my GO-TO lower body mobility enhancing/warm-up routine to prep your hips for jiujitsu training, squatting, lower body work or if you just want to move better throughout your day.
You can get access to the 10-minute follow-along by clicking here.
Deep Squat:
The routine starts with a deep squat to see how your body is feeling that day and can also be used as a “test-retest” meaning we sit in a deep squat at the beginning of the routine and then again at the end to see if what we did actually made a difference.
Long Lunge:
I talk about the long lunge ALL THE TIME. It’s an amazing, dynamic, easily adjustable movement that always you to safely get deep into hip opening positions that would otherwise be restricted.
Hamstring Flossing:
This dynamic hamstring firing exercise I got from Kelly Starrett (author of the movement bible ‘Becoming a Supple Leopard’). It pairs really nicely with the long lunge.
